Keeping You and Your Car Healthy For 2010
MY Garage Museum & Retail Store February Event
Effingham, Ill – On Saturday, Feb. 20 Mid America Motorworks hosted its first of fourteen events to be held on its Corporate Campus in 2010. The event themed “Keeping You and Your Car Healthy in 2010” was sponsored by Clore Automotive and Firefly Grill.
Saturday’s event drew an enthusiastic group of participants who were very excited to see Mike and Laurie Yager in attendance. This was Mike’s first introduction back to Mid America Motorworks following open heart surgery in late December of 2009.
Derek Schmidt and Kenny Yager, Corvette merchants at Mid America Motorworks, teamed up to lead a seminar focused on proper maintenance and common problems that can easily go undetected without routine tune-ups. Derek commented, “we covered many issues surrounding batteries, because that is key to Corvette owners who typically store their automobiles during the winter.”
The information covered in Derek and Kenny’s seminar is just one example of the type of additional information that Mid America Motorworks plans to incorporate within their new website, due to roll out in late March of 2010. “We know our customers do business with us because we have the products and variety that they need. Our goal with these workshops and additional information on our website is to become a more extensive resource that our customers may want” explained Kenny.
Kristie and Chef Niall Campbell, owners of the renowned Firefly Grill, provided a delicious and informative demonstration on healthy cooking. The hour-long demonstration included three different food samples, as well as some great tips on cooking healthy at home. The Firefly Grill, located in Effingham, Ill., has been nationally recognized in several publications and was most recently awarded the Illinois Governor’s Quantum Leap Award recognized for thinking outside of the box for bringing tourism into the state of Illinois.
Our next event will be held March 20, 2010 in the Installation and Restyling Center at Mid America Motorworks. The C4/C5/C6 Corvette Performance Weekend Workshop will feature a seminar by Paul Koerner, GM World Class Service Technician, and technical advisor for corvettemechanic.com and the corvetteactioncenter.com forums. Paul will give facts about how to take care of and optimize the performance of your Corvette.
